Inyoni Creek’s Naked Chefs treat Rand Aid managers to a special lunch
JOHANNESBURG – The Inyoni Creek's Naked Chefs treated the Rand Aid complex managers to one of their tasty pub lunches.
The Inyoni Creek Retirement Village’s Naked Chefs treated the managers from Rand Aid’s various complexes to a manager’s lunch to show their appreciation.
Managers from Thornhill Manor, Wedge Gardens, Thembalami, Inyoni Creek, Tarentaal and Elphin Lodge attended the lunch.
“It was lovely to join in the festivities. The Naked Chef’s monthly pub lunch is one of the most supported events on our calendar. The clubhouse was jam-packed and our Naked Chefs served bangers and mash, gravy and vegetables and ice cream served with their secret recipe chocolate sauce.
“As managers, we seldom get to spend time together and it was a wonderful opportunity for us to network,” said Jenny Tonkin, Inyoni Creek’s complex manager.
The Naked Chef initiative is hosted on the last Friday of the month and involves a few of the male residents preparing a special lunch for the managers.
Tonkin said the initiative is not a charity but rather places emphasis on social interaction among all the complexes and gives managers the opportunity to get out and have fun.
Spokesperson for the Rand Aid Association, Cathy Grosvenor said, “Their pub lunches are so popular. The tasty pub fare includes favourites such as cottage pie, bobotie and fish and chips, with each plate followed by a bowl of ice cream and homemade chocolate sauce.”
Tonkin added that on the last Friday of the month, the Naked Chefs give her four lunch tickets to use to treat staff members who assist at the village.
