3 012 knitted squares handed over by Rand Aid for Mandela Day

JOHANNESBURG – Rand Aid gets knitting...

An impressive 3012 knitted squares were handed over to Kevin Friedman of 67 Blankets for Mandela Day on 24 July.

The squares were knitted as part of the Rand Aid Association’s inter-complex Mandela Day Knit-a-thon.

The association hosted a knit-a-thon event to see which of the association’s complexes could knit the most squares.

Before competition day, the residents of Thornhill Manor Retirement Village secured the inevitable win by knitting 2 631 squares.Details: www.67blankets.co.za
