#ICYMI: Local known man found dead in a Berea street

Berea – After he was stabbed, the deceased walked to seek assistance but fell and died on the side of the road.

The Hillbrow police are investigating a case of murder after a man was found dead in Berea on Abel Road on 5 August at about 3.30pm.

It was said the man was playing pool in one of the famous liquor outlets in the area before he was stabbed during an argument.

Hillbrow police spokesperson, Sergeant Mduduzi Zondo, said, “According to our investigation, he [the deceased] was involved in an argument while playing pool and the suspect then stabbed him. He then left the outlet to seek medical help but unfortunately, he fell and died on a pavement outside a block of flats.”

A case of murder has been opened with the Hillbrow Police Station and Zondo said no suspect had been arrested.

He added that they were following every lead and anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect could contact the police.

“The suspect could be someone known in the area considering that the victim is also a resident in the area.”
