Police nab suspects for various crimes

Norwood – The fight against crime is a collective effort between the public and the police.

 

Norwood police have arrested 23 suspects for various offences committed in the Joburg east suburbs.

The arrests were made between 11 and 18 August and Norwood Police Station spokesperson, Captain Elliot Tshivhase said the crimes ranged from drunk driving to sexual assault.

The arrests were as follows:

  • 1 for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
  • 1 for possession of dagga
  • 1 for shoplifting
  • 1 for intimidation
  • 1 for sexual assault
  • 18 for drunk driving.

“All suspects appeared in court and some have made bail while others still remain in police custody,” said Tshivhase. “Police will continue to arrest people caught on the wrong side of the law and investigations will continue on those still in our custody.”
