Kicking off spring in Lethabong with a market

LETHABONG – The Thornhill Manor Retirement Village helped kick off spring with a very special market on 8 September.

Thornhill Manor Retirement Village in Lethabong recently hosted its second food market on 8 September.

Spokesperson for the village, Cathy Grosvenor said, “The village held the market from 12pm to 2pm. Visitors to the community centre had their pick of meals and a tea table and sundowners station provided hot or cold beverages.”

The day saw various eats and drinks sold with visitors given the option to eat a country-style meal at the village, with relaxing background music to help visitors ease into spring.

Some of the villagers who prepared meals for the market included Yvonne Ciapparelli who offered cottage pie, lasagne, garlic bread, quiche and green salad. Ruth Meredith and Val and Bill Kruger offered an array of baked goods, tarts, cakes, biscuits, shortbread and puddings.
