Auction at Hillbrow Police Station and you’re invited

HILLBROW – Want to purchase household items and valuables at a fraction of the cost?

Joburg East Cluster police officers are inviting community members to attend an auction at Hillbrow Police Station where lost and found items will be up for sale at low prices.

Spokesperson for the cluster, Captain Elliot Tshivhase, said the auction will be held on 1 November.

Tshivhase said, “There are a variety of valuables that people can choose from and they come at affordable prices such as televisions, cameras, camp chairs, tools, jewellery, laptops, popcorn machines and many other resourceful items.”

According to Tshivhase, auction items are government property obtained from criminal activities.

“These are items that were recovered by the police from the arrests and they were never reclaimed by the owners. They are being sold to the public because the police cannot keep them forever.

“All items will be sold on quotation basis on the day of the auction,” said Tshivhase, adding that each lot must be quoted for.

He, however, said there is no guarantee that the item is in good working condition.

“All payments must be in cash and no cheques are allowed. The items must be removed immediately after payment.”

The auction starts at 10am.
