A better festive season for Impilo
JOBURG – Impilo was awarded R10 000 in the West Pack Lifestyle Community Competition.
Fairvale-based non-profit organization Impilo Child Protection and Adoption Services was awarded R10 000 in the West Pack Lifestyle Community Competition on 4 December.
The competition gives loyal customers the opportunity to win their share of R500 000. In addition, West Pack Lifestyle will match their winnings and donate an equal cash prize to the charity of their choice. Competition winner Jodie Davimes won R10 000 and chose Impilo as the beneficiary. Davimes and founder of Impilo Sue Krawitz were handed their prizes at the West Pack Express store in Blairgowrie.
Managing director of the West Pack Lifestyle Group, Chris Junior Da Silva said, “So many of our customers reach out to us with heartfelt requests for donations to help a cause or local charity that is close to their hearts. This year, our competition provides our customers with the chance to win cash to spend on things they really need, but also the opportunity to give back to their favourite charity in a meaningful way.”
Social media marketing manager for West Pack Lifestyle, Roxzanne van Eyk said, “The competition is the perfect way to bring us closer to our customers by supporting the charities that they support and getting closer to our communities.”
Impilo is a non-profit which primarily gives children care medically, physically and emotionally while also placing abandoned children into families.
Davimes said that she heard of their work through her company which had made a donation to Impilo and felt like they were deserving of the prize.
Krawitz said the prize was an incredible surprise for the organisation and that it is amazing that big companies acknowledge their profits and share them with the community.
She added that the cash donation will be going to baby formula while also rewarding the volunteers who work tirelessly for the organisation.
