New home for yellow-wood tree
LYNDHURST – The residents of Thornhill Manor planted a yellow-wood tree for their Arbor Day celebrations.
A beautiful yellow-wood tree was given a new home at Thornhill Manor when it was planted for Arbor Day on 30 August.
The tree was donated to the Rand Aid old age home by Servest Landscaping who also dug the hole and provided the soil necessary to plant the tree.
Spokesperson for the Rand Aid Cathy Grosvenor said, “A spadeful of soil was placed into the hole by all who were present. A beautiful prayer and a reading about yellow-wood trees were done by chapel chairperson Lynn Peters and tea and cake were served after the ceremony in the community centre.”
Chaiperson of the Garden Club Wendy Hunt arranged the catering alongside the other Garden Club members.
