VIDEO: Moonchild Sanelly and Heavy K preview new single at Bacardi House Party Live Session
JOBURG – The king and queen of dance set the Bacardi House Party Live Sessions alight.
Last year, we witnessed Heavy K and Moonchild Sanelly set the bar for the summer party scene with an explosive performance at their Bacardi House Party Session in Braamfontein. The king and queen of dance held an exclusive listening session where Moonchild Sanelly performed some of her best hits as well as her soon to be released hit with Heavy K, Yebo Mama.
The Bacardi House Party Sessions, give artists a chance to collaborate and showcase their talent alongside some of the biggest names in the industry while throwing the ultimate house party.
Heavy K said the collaboration was made possible by Bacardi even though he had always kept an eye and ear out for Moonchild Sanelly throughout the years they’ve known each other.
“I’ve known Moonchild for almost eight years now and whenever we’d see each other she’d tell me that she wants to make a song with me. She got to my attention and I started listening to her stuff and I found her different and very unique,” Heavy K said.
Much like previous Bacardi House Party Sessions, Heavy K and Moonchild Sanelly debuted their new collaboration track at the event last year. The song’s beat follows Heavy K’s signature African beats and sounds that are complimented by Moonchild Sanelly’s commanding voice.
“When I was making the beat I wanted to trigger her emotional side. I needed to make sure the beat helps her express her other side. When you listen to Heavy K songs there’s always a message, this song has a powerful message,” said Heavy K.
The new track and music video created in partnership with the Bacardi House Party Sessions will debut to the public in early January 2019 and will also be performed live at the Bacardi Holiday Club taking place next March.
“He touched me at the word go and that’s why our song was done in less than 15 minutes. I definitely had a story. At this point, I’ve carved my signature and I’ve got a distinct sound,” Moonchild Sanelly said.
