Toy gun criminal nabbed for business crimes

A man linked to a robbery at a supermarket in Marlboro was recently arrested by Bramley detectives.

According to the spokesperson for the Bramley Police Station, Captain Molefe Mogodi, the detectives were on duty tracing the wanted suspects on 18 January.

“The information led the team to a suspect whom, when searched, was found in possession of a toy gun. He was then arrested and detained at the police station.”

Mogodi explained that through the investigation, they found that the suspect was involved in a business robbery which occurred in December last year.

“It is alleged that the arrested man was part of the group of men who stormed into the supermarket and robbed the store.

“No one was arrested at the time. The police are on the heels of the remaining suspects and hope to make more arrest soon.”

The spokesperson added that in their bid to best serve and protect the community, the police in conjunction with Metro police and National Traffic Police recently arrested 25 motorists who were found to have been under the influence of alcohol while driving, during a drunk driving operation in the Bramley area.
