8 February: Van Wyk, the Storyteller of Riverlea
Van Wyk, the Storyteller of Riverlea, created and performed by famous South African actor Zane Meas and directed by Christo Davids will be on show at the Market Theatre until 24 February. The Storyteller of Riverlea explores renowned South African author Chris Van Wyk’s influences as a poet, a political activist and writer, his family life and his battle with cancer. 9 February: Sounds Wild Festival
After numerous requests from fans, Bonobo will headline Sounds Wild Festival with a highly anticipated DJ set. Sounds Wild featuring Bonobo takes place on 9 February at Fox Junction with two stages playing host to the best in dance music. Tickets available on www.howler.co.za for R300.
9 February: Screenings of Matwetwe
From executive producer, Black Coffee, and director Kagiso Lediga. Matwetwe (wizard) is a coming of age adventure following Lefa and Papi, best friends and recent high school graduates, on the hustle of their young lives. 10 February: Sundays in the Living Room
Sunday’s favourite rooftop vibe, The Living Room, forces you to immerse yourself in the rooftop venue’s world of plants, smiles, laughs and dance. Enjoy some sundowners with a loved one, an old friend or someone you just met. Tickets available from R50 – R100 at the door.
10 February: New Nights with Tats Nkonzo
POPArt presents New Nights with Tats Nkonzo. Artists are interviewed by comedian, musician and SA’s got talent host Tats Nkonzo and present new material that they are working on (finished, unfinished or unreleased).
