Metro police impound unroadworthy taxi after it skips red light

JOHANNESBURG – Metro police impound minibus taxi for disregarding a red traffic light.


Metro police officers impounded an unlicensed and unroadworthy minibus taxi on Simmonds Street in Johannesburg  on 12 February.

This after the driver had skipped a red light.

Videos of taxi drivers disregarding the rules of the road have gone viral and some motorists are calling upon law enforcement officers to deal with them as they put the lives of innocent people at risk.

A Twitter user posted a picture of a taxi driver driving into oncoming traffic.

Metro police have been impounding taxis in Joburg for being unroadworthy and unlicensed.
