JOBURG – The power outage is caused by a cable fault.

A power outage in the early hours of today, 18 February, as a result of a cable fault at Newtown’s substation has disrupted all operations at the Newtown Railway Station as well as the Johannesburg Park Station.

This is according to a statement issued by Eskom’s Operating Unit.

“Technicians are currently on site working to repair and restore power supply,” read the statement.

“The time of restoration is still unknown and will be communicated as soon as it’s available.”

The power entity apologised for the inconvenience caused.
