Taxi capsises along Glenhove Road
HOUGHTON – The 58-year-old taxi driver died on the scene of the accident.
A 58-year-old taxi driver has died after his Toyota Quantum capsised while travelling along the M1 North on Glenhove Road, Houghton at 11am on 14 February.
According to the spokesperson for the Norwood Police Station, Captain Elliot Tshivhase, the taxi was making its way to Alexandra from Johannesburg CBD with passengers inside. “While travelling on the M1 North along Glenhove Road, the taxi driver lost control and the taxi capsized. The driver died immediately as two passengers were left injured.”
Tshivhase said the injured passengers were taken to Charlotte Maxeke Hospital for medical treatment. “The deceased was, however, taken to a mortuary.”
The spokesperson stated that the case is being investigated at the station.
