Miss Pru clocks 10 years in the industry
JOBURG – DJ still going strong as she clocks a decade of spinning decks.

After a decade of being in the entertainment industry, Miss Pru is still going strong. The DJ has marked her name with golden letters as she clocks a decade of spinning decks.
She dropped jaws and turned heads in 2016 following the release of her multiple award-winning song, Ameni featuring the likes of Sjava, Emtee, Saudi, Fifi Cooper, A-Reece and B3nchMarQ. She has also blessed people’s ears with hits like Isaga Lami, Phumelela, Ugesi, Welele and Wena Wedwa.
The award-winning DJ started her journey in the industry as a radio presenter and has never looked back. Upon finishing her radio course with On Cue Communications, Miss Pru joined TransAfrica as a start to her radio career which was followed by radio stations like Radio Rhythms, Cliff Central and Touch HD. Proving that she is a force to be reckoned with, in the past 10 years, she has collaborated with brands like Chevrolet, Legit, Opel Corsa, Brutal Fruit, Sprizzo and Kenzo.
“I’ve definitely grown since I’ve started and the goals I had back then have definitely changed. I’m glad to have learned about the business side of the industry it has helped me sustain myself,” Miss Pru said.
The 34-year-old said a lot of people have been there for her in the journey, including her best friend, Sihle Shabalala, who she appreciates and owes her success to. She added that staying away from controversy and keeping her life private has helped in sustaining her in the entertainment industry.
The DJ holds two South African hip-hop awards, a Metro award and a Sama award. She has had the pleasure of performing alongside industry giants like Louis Vega, Josh Milan, Oskido, Vinny Da Vinci, DJ Fresh, Euphonik, Black Coffee and Christos, just to name a few and said she believes in introducing new talent into the industry.
“There’s so many talented people out there and I love working with people that have not been introduced into the industry yet, they’ve got something fresh and different to bring to the table,” she said.
