Truck driver caught driving with two burst tyres in Houghton Estate
HOUGHTON – The truck driver was pulled over on the M1 North by Metro police officers and told to change his tyres.
Metro police freeway officers stopped a truck at the M1 North and 11th Avenue intersection in Houghton Estate after the truck driver continued to drive after two of its tyres burst on 23 July.
Spokesperson for the Metro police, Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said, “Officers stopped the truck after its tyres burst. They assisted the driver to move the truck as it was causing traffic, they moved the truck to the emergency lane.”
The driver was also told to change his tyres as officers directed traffic.
