St John’s Grade 11 learner organises civvies day in aid of Rays of Hope

HOUGHTON – Gregory Thompson helped raise R5 500 and 400 tubs of peanut butter for Rays of Hope.

Grade 11 learner Gregory Thompson of St John’s College organised a successful civvies day and collected peanut butter tubs for the Rays of Hope community project in Alexandra.

Rays of Hope began with one project in Alexandra 28 years ago and has grown into a network of nine community-based projects focusing on education, orphaned and vulnerable children and work readiness, partnering with the community to bring about lasting change.

The civvies day was a great success with Gregory handing over R5 500 and 400 tubs of peanut butter to Rays of Hope.

Head of marketing at St John’s College Jacqui Deeks said, “Well done to Gregory for all the effort he put into making the day a success and thank you to all the students of the college and Sixth Form for their generosity.”
