Ward 117 councillor sings JMPD’s praises after they promptly remove an illegal advertisement
PARKVIEW – The Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) immediately responded to the ward councillor's notice about an illegal sign being put up.
Ward 117 councillor Tim Truluck is highly impressed with the quick reaction by the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) to remove an illegal advertisement sign on the corner of Jan Smuts Avenue and Lower Park Drive at Zoo lake on 3 March.
“Well done JMPD,” said Truluck on his Facebook post.
He said he received a complaint from a resident about the illegal sign. “I alerted JMPD and City Parks and went on my scooter to investigate.”

“They [the people putting up the sign] had no paperwork and their boss promised to send it to me. JMPD then arrived and said they will immediately impound the truck. The sign was loaded back onto the truck and they were taken to Wemmer,” said Truluck.
The owner of the truck will have to pay R1 600 to release it from Wemmer Metrobus depot and will need to carry the correct paperwork in future when erecting signs.
