Number 1: WATCH: This uplifting video from Roedean will warm your heart during lockdown

Roedean School put together a touching video featuring the voices of their choir singing into their selfie cameras.

Choirmaster Ralf Schmitt, who is also the choirmaster of the renowned Ndlovu Youth Choir, is seen playing the piano as part of the video.

Number 2: Covid-19: Charlotte Maxeke medical professionals design intubox

Professor Feroza Motara together with three other medical professors and doctors from the emergency department and intensive care units at the Charlotte Maxeke Hospital in Parktown designed an intubox.

The intubox prevents viral droplets spread to the treating clinicians by containing it inside the box.

Number 3: SANDF deployed to support other govt departments amid Covid-19 outbreak

Conversations sparked prior to the announcement of the lockdown when members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) were seen arriving in busloads on Jan Smuts Avenue in Craighall on 23 March.

The SANDF said in an official statement that it was deployed to support other government departments in terms of disaster relief, humanitarian assistance and crisis response at this time.

Number 4: Covid-19: Government welcomes arrest of fake news video suspect

A 55-year-old male suspect was arrested and charged for circulating a misleading video clip that claimed Covid-19 test kits were contaminated.

Government has urged communities to work together to combat and report any person who misleads the public with the wrong information.

Number 5: Covid-19 on print: Your newspaper is safe

Your newspaper is safe.

According to the world’s top doctors and scientists, there has not been a recorded incident of Covid-19 transmission from a printed newspaper, magazine, letter or package.
