Collaboration leads to successful distribution of piping hot soup

NORWOOD – Noah Can recently ran a successful soup drive in various local areas.

Noah Can with the help of the Angel Network, were able to distribute ‘piping’ hot soup to those in need.

According to Noah Can, Angel Network donated buckets of soup for their area which comprises Norwood, Orange Grove and Houghton.

Each bucket had 20 litres of safely sealed piping hot and delicious vegetable soup.

Noah Can said they always advocate for help for their community and know that soup kitchens are struggling too for funds, as everyone else is.

The Can gave the Lighthouse Church two 20-litre buckets of hot vegetable soup, and frozen vegetables; gave the Inner City Can four buckets and they distributed the seventh bucket spontaneously at the Norwood Park on Grant Avenue. The Can believes collaboration is the key to success when fighting food insecurity and staving off malnutrition. Through a team of unpaid volunteers, they make success possible.

On 25 June Noah Can distributed 200 parcels, 100 of which were from donations from Norwood Spar and Pick n Pay trolley drives, and 100 were purchased from generous donations from the community.
