On 16 July, Ward 81 residents celebrated Mandela Day at Organic Market Informal Settlement on 9^th Road, Bramley View.

Ward 81 councillor Irene Rugheimer said, “The Bedfordview Lions kindly donated fruit and muffins and residents from Bramley arranged the cool drink donation – 360 bags were distributed to children, elderly and disabled.”

She added that Sandringham Police Station had a campaign on Covid-19 and gender-based violence awareness.

Captain Ramonkung Thobejane from the Sandringham Police Station Social Crime Prevention Unit said they conducted community outreach and awareness programmes. “We were with two social workers who advised attendees to make use of the social services provided at the station. There were also 250 pamphlets with more information distributed.”

“I would like to thank everyone that contributed on the day,” said councillor Rugheimer.
