Rosebank Lancet Laboratories now offer Covid-19 Antibody tests

ROSEBANK – Following SAHPRA re-approval, Lancet Laboratories now offer Covid-19 Antibody tests.

Residents can now have Covid-19 Antibody tests done at the Rosebank Lancet Laboratories. In a statement shared by Lancet Laboratories spokesperson Sandile Sihlaba, the laboratory said they now offered these tests following South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) re-approval.

“All Lancet Laboratories locations can provide the phlebotomy service for the SARS-CoV-2 Antibody test. It is important to note that the test is run in Johannesburg. Medical aid information will be accepted and a claim will be made to the scheme until other information has been received from the schemes,” the statement read.

The laboratory further stated that for non-medical aid patients, the cash price is R230. The test turnaround time is 24 hours from the time the sample is received in their Johannesburg laboratory.

“To assist with the interpretation of the result, Lancet Laboratories does require a referring doctor. Unfortunately, no self-referrals will be accepted. All patients can go for the test. It is not restricted to only those patients who had a positive Covid-19 test result,” the laboratory stated.
