Parktown Girl to take part in International Physics Olympiad

PARKVIEW – Nikisha wrote a challenging physics paper earlier this year in which she scored within the top five marks in the country, qualifying her for the International Physics Olympiad.

Parktown Girls learner Nikisha Baboolal will represent South Africa in the International Physics Olympiad in July.

The marketing manager at the school, Kerry Liss said Nikisha participated in the National Science Olympiad last year, achieving one of the top marks in the physical science paper.

This earned her an entry into the qualifying round for a place on the South African Physics Olympiad Team.

Earlier this year, Nikisha wrote a challenging physics paper and scored within the top five marks in the country, qualifying for the International Physics Olympiad.

The Olympiad is being held in Lithuania in July, but due to Covid-19 restrictions, Nikisha will participate virtually from a venue in Cape Town.

“We congratulate Nikisha on her impressive achievement and wish her all the best for the international Olympiad,” said Liss.
