DSJ hosts successful read-a-thon and book donation
PARKTOWN – Johannsen said the German and English donations covered genres including fairy tales, horror stories and everything in-between.
The Covid-19 pandemic almost thwarted the Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg’s annual read-a-thon.
Head of the school’s learning centre Pam Johannsen said, “Thanks to the generous nature of our school community, nearly 60 bookworms donated over 120 books to the lernzentrum [learning centre].”
Johannsen said the books in German and English covered genres including fairy-tales, horror stories and everything in-between.
