Parktown Girls learners bring in awards

The Gauteng Provincial Eskom Expo set the stage for local school Parktown High School for Girls to be honoured.

Eskom Expo for Young Scientists is an exposition, or a science fair where learners have a chance to show others their projects about their own scientific investigations.

This year, 36 learners were selected from Parktown High School for Girls to exhibit their science expo projects in the online Gauteng Provincial round of the competition.

The standard of projects was particularly high this year, according to provincial coordinator of the Eskom Expo, Raven Motsewabangwe.

At the recent virtual Gauteng awards, Parktown learners received the most awards which included six highly commended certificates, 15 bronze medals, 10 silver medals, two gold medals and five of Eskom’s highly prestigious special awards.
