Pharmaceutical shop in Rosebank allegedly robbed

ROSEBANK – Police vehicles could be seen were a section of Oxford Road in Rosebank was cordoned off.

A well-known pharmaceutical store on Oxford Road, in Rosebank was robbed on the morning of November 18. Motorists using that section of the road on that morning experienced traffic delays with the presence of law enforcement visible.

Rosebank Police Station spokesperson Sergeant Bongi Mdletshe said there was a case of business robbery opened. “Securities were held up by unknown gunmen driving a BMW and a (pharmaceutical store) was robbed of perfumes the value of which is unknown. Trio Task Team from the district office is investigating the matter.”

Rosebank Management District (RMD) precinct manager Lerato Khiba said, “the RMD received communication that along Oxford Road one lane was affected due to an incident relating to a robbery around The Zone shopping centre. Police and security companies were on the scene for further investigations and no injuries were sustained.”

The Zone management were contacted for comment with no success.
