Gauteng police need help in locating suspected arsonist
Sentious Novans who was previously sentenced is suspected to be involved in several cases including arson, which occurred in the east and north parts of Johannesburg.

The police in Gauteng request the public to assist them in locating Sentious Novans. According to a statement by Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Sello on September 10, Novans is suspected to be involved in multiple cases of arson, murder and residential burglary that had occurred in the east and north parts of Johannesburg in the previous months.
Sello stated that in all the incidents, the suspect will break into affluent houses after stealing property and setting the houses alight.

“Novans was previously sentenced to seven years of which four years were suspended for five years.
“Anyone with positive information that can lead to the arrest of Novans is urged to contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Lesiba Magongoa on 071 351 4189 or Lieutenant Colonel Prowse on 079 498 2435. The Crime Stop Line can also be contacted on 08600 10111, anonymous tip-offs can be reported via MySaps application which can be downloaded on any smartphone. Information received will be treated with the strictest confidence,” stated Colonel Sello.
