Houghton School principal impressed with school’s overall performance throughout the year
Houghton School's principal wishes learners and staff a happy and safe festive season.
Houghton School principal, Persa Morris marvels at the academic year’s achievements and challenges.
“2022 has been a year of challenges, and achievements. Having been appointed as principal in August, in this short space of time, our school is still maintaining our high standards and our learners continue to grow and excel.”
Morris added that the school’s foundation phase entered into mental mathematics and a spelling competition organised by the district and performed well with some learners going far in the competition.
The principal noted that the school hosted a concert this month called ‘Music is all around Us’.
” It was a smashing hit where both nights the learners sang and danced to music and both nights we were sold out. Our chess players and athletes competed in various events and Houghton came out tops.”
Morris concluded that academically the school was performing well in extramural and cultural sectors. She added that the learners received an excellent education of a high standard and are sent off to high schools to continue their excellent work.
