Hollard Highway Heroes campaign launched in Parktown

After tracking and rewarding truck-driving excellence for the past eight years, this year, the competition hopes to attract 5 000 truck and bus drivers from across South Africa, as well as its very first cohort of bus drivers.

A competition was launched in Parktown to identify and reward the best truck and bus drivers in South Africa.

The Hollard Highway Heroes 2023 competition, run by Hollard Trucking, aimed to highlight and acknowledge those drivers who go beyond the call of duty to deliver their cargo and passengers safely and on time. They do this by driving responsibly and considerately and ultimately leading to safer driving conditions for all road users.

The contest has come a long way from its origins as part of a driver training initiative by trucking insurance specialist Regent Insurance and today it’s the country’s most prominent initiative to promote and acknowledge safe driving on highways.
