Locals tick their fitness goals at the Atholl Parkrun

Atholl Parkrun founder aimed to unite community through exercise.

Over 200 enthusiastic runners, joggers and walkers ensured they had a healthy start to 2024 at Atholl parkrun at Winston Ridge park on January 13.

“Unfortunately, we did have to close the event for some months during Covid-19, and some people were slow to return, but we are now back in action and raring to go”

There were plenty of smiles as the parkrunners completed the 5km route with two, Elizabeth Gough and Linda Fine both reaching their special 50th run milestone.

Baillie added that 19 people chose to begin their parkrun journey on January 13 in the most perfect sunny weather.

“Exercising outdoors is one of the healthiest things you can do. At the parkrun you can go at your own pace or simply come to volunteer or watch. “
