Parktown Boys’ High School hosts a successful Indigo Water Polo Tournament
Parktown Boys' High School learners participated in rowing, water polo, basketball, and tennis over the March 1-3 weekend.

Cheers and jubilation filled Parktown Boys’ High School on March 2, as the boys’ school’s summer sports season drew to a close.
As is customary, the weekend saw various provincial and national tournaments at the school. Parktown Boys’ hosted its 21st annual U15 Indigo Water Polo tournament that hosted 24 schools around the country.

The water polo 1st team finished 12th place out of 24 participating teams in their tournament and enjoyed a run of five victories in the play-off rounds.
On-site, the U14 A cricketers played against Pretoria Boys’ High, as did in the basketball section. In basketball, the Parktown Boys 1st team secured a hard-fought 38-36 victory over a strong Pretoria Boys team, while the 2nd team lost by two points in the last moments of their game.

At Roodeplaat Dam, Parktown Boys took part in the South African Rowing Championships, from March 1- 3.
Parktown Boys’ High School headmaster, Kevin Stippel noted that “Parktown Boys played to win, but not at all costs. How one played the game remained paramount.”

Stippel added that the school was gratified by the positive feedback received by visitors to the school about the learners’ manners, decorum, and friendly nature.
