Vox pop: Locals share their thoughts on the National Health Insurance Bill policy

Residents give their opinion on the National Health Insurance Bill policy signed into law.

The paper spoke to some community members to give their thoughts on the National Health Insurance (NHB) Bill policy signed by the President into South African law.

This is what they had to say:

Belliot August: I think it’s going to be a good thing for people who can’t afford medical aid in the country, and people who rely on medical services to live will benefit a lot.
Tocklas Khumalo: I think this will work and it will be a great help because medication is expensive. This is the change South Africa needs because many people die due to lack of medical care.
Sizeka Mxothwa: I don’t believe any of this. President Cyril Ramaphosa is using this to campaign for the election, because why now is he only thinking about this? I will believe it once I see it happen.
Petrus Labuschagne: I think it is a good thing for a good cause and I hope it works out.
