Power supply restored on First Road in Kew after outage

City Power said investigations revealed that a loose cable may have caused the fire on the pillar box which resulted in an outage affecting a few houses in the area.

Power supply has been restored to houses that were affected by an outage in Kew on First Road on June 24.

Ward 81 councillor Joanne Horwitz alerted the publication of the outage and commended City Power’s swift response.

City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena said, “Investigations revealed that a loose cable may have caused the fire on the pillar box which resulted in an outage affecting a few houses in the area. Repairs have since been completed.”

City Power apologised for the inconvenience caused to customers during the period of this outage and thanked them for their patience and cooperation.
