Ward 87 voters will determine their next ward councillor
ANC, DA, EFF, and Rise Mzansi candidate councillors have their eyes on Ward 87.
Parktown High School for Girls was abuzz on August 28 as locals came in and out of the school to vote for their next Ward 87 councillor.

Party agents from ANC, DA, EFF, and Rise Mzansi were located outside the school in their full regalia ready to vouch for their candidate councillors and support their local members in the area.

With Ward 87 consisting of 17 451 registered voters, the ward is being contested by four political party candidates: Walleen Esme Mostert of the ANC, Kyle Dalton Jacobs of the DA, Aphelele Manyana of the EFF, and Malik Dasoo of Rise Mzansi.

The ward was previously held by the DA but recently became vacant following the resignation of Bridget Steer.

Diane Kriegler said the voting process was seamless, “The process was simple and the staff was friendly.”

Lynn and Vincent Bathe were in good spirits and were glad to have cast their vote as Ward 87 residents.
