Mzansi Youth Choir to light up Melrose Arch’s Carols on the Piazza

Join us at Melrose Arch on November 23 for a magical evening of music, lights, and festive cheer with the Mzansi Youth Choir at Carols on the Piazza.

The stage is set for an extraordinary evening of music, lights, and community spirit as Melrose Arch gears up for its much-anticipated Carols on the Piazza event on November 23.
The heart of Joburg’s premier lifestyle precinct will be transformed into a festive haven, where the soul-stirring voices of the world-renowned Mzansi Youth Choir will take centre stage, adding a powerful note of cheer to the city’s holiday season.

Celebrating the magic of Christmas, this year’s event promises to be a truly unforgettable experience. Known for their exceptional performances, the Mzansi Youth Choir recently garnered international fame on America’s Got Talent, wowing audiences around the globe with their electrifying sound. Now, they’re bringing their voices to Melrose Arch, inviting the community to sing along to timeless Christmas classics in a setting illuminated by the precinct’s breathtaking festive lights—the largest and most dazzling display in Johannesburg.

But the spirit of giving doesn’t stop at the music. Carols on the Piazza is also a chance to give back. This year, the event will raise much-needed funds for the South African Guide-Dogs Association, an organisation that trains guide and service dogs for those with visual, physical, and developmental disabilities. The event also supports Cornelle Leach, a local guide dog owner battling Stargardt macular dystrophy, who is seeking a second surgery to restore her sight. Cornelle’s inspiring journey – pursuing advanced electro-stimulation therapy to recover her vision – has touched the hearts of many, and the community’s generosity will play a part in helping her realise her dream.

It’s not just about the wonderful music and the joyous atmosphere; it’s about making a real difference in people’s lives. We’re thrilled to create a platform where the community can come together to spread festive cheer and help those in need.”

The event is more than just a celebration of Christmas; it’s a reflection of the generosity and spirit of togetherness that defines Melrose Arch. By attending, concertgoers will not only be treated to an evening of world-class entertainment, but they’ll also be helping to provide the precious gift of sight to those who need it most.
