As part of their campaign, the rally will feature an address by ANCYL President Cde Collen Malatji who will speak passionately about the urgent need for economic freedom and social change in the mining sector. The theme: Economic Freedom & Social Change Now, Not Later, underscores the commitment of the league to advocate for the rights of workers facing job losses.

Local authorities have announced that sections of Biermann Avenue will be closed to ensure the safety of participants and bystanders during this significant event. Motorists are encouraged to find alternative routes and expect possible delays in the area.

Temporary road closures will be introduced.

The ANCYL aims to unite voices against the retrenchment of mine workers, using the hashtag #AwayWithRetrenchmentOfMineWorkers to amplify their message. This protest not only highlights the immediate concerns of the mining community but also emphasises the broader implications for economic stability and social justice.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed about the event and the associated road closures as community members come together in support of this vital cause.
