Water restored after Rosebank pipe burst
JW has fixed the pipe burst in Rosebank, and is now, gradually, returning water to nearby areas.
Johannesburg Water (JW) has confirmed that the pipe burst in Rosebank has been repaired. As anticipated, the utility had to close the valves at the Dunkeld reservoir during the repair process to allow the pipes to recharge in the area.

This necessary step, however, resulted in the water running dry in neighbouring suburbs, including Parkhurst, Parktown North, and Craighall Park. JW is now in the process of opening the valves to restore water flow to these areas.

Residents are advised that, as usual, water will return to the lower-lying areas first, followed by the higher-lying regions. When water supply resumes fully, residents are urged to use water sparingly to help facilitate a quicker and more equitable refill process for all communities, especially those at higher elevations.
JW thanks residents for their patience and co-operation during this outage. They remind everyone to report any further issues and to conserve water responsibly as levels stabilise.
