Chess tournament comes to 307 Gaming Zone

The tournament, as well as their incentivisation programme, is set to get Bramley Youth playing chess at 307 Gaming Zone.

Lenasia Chess Academy, together with 307 Gaming Zone in Bramley, hosted a chess tournament on September 7.

Chairperson of Lenasia Chess Academy Ferhaad Vally explained that the tournament fitted perfectly with their ethos. “We want the youngsters to be engaged in constructive extracurricular activities, so, we collaborated with 307 Gaming Zone, after the founder reached out about hosting a tournament, and required assistance to organise it.”

Zenzele Nkala, founder of 307 Gaming Zone, said: “We would like to introduce [chess] to schools and the youth in the area as well. So, we incentivise it to an extent, that if you can come and play against one of our guys and you win, you can play on the rest of the games for 30 minutes for free.”

Nkala added that he wanted the gaming zone to be a family friendly space, where people could relax comfortably and play all sorts of games, including chess.
