Parktown Boys’ first team soccer captain leads team to victory with courage and heart

Kaden Poole, captain of Park town Boys’ first soccer team, shows strength and determination after injury, inspiring his teammates to a memorable season.

At Parktown Boys’ High School, leadership is defined not only by skill but by character, and few embody that better than first team soccer captain, and matric learner, Kaden Poole. His journey this season has been one of resilience, passion, and unwavering commitment to his team.

Kaden’s love for football began at just six years old, when he first discovered the joy of the game. Since then, his dedication has shaped him into the player, and leader, he is today. “It’s my responsibility to lead on and off the pitch.” His words carry the quiet confidence of someone who leads by example.

Earlier in his school career, Kaden faced one of his toughest challenges, when a serious ankle injury forced him to sit out for six months. Watching from the sidelines was not easy, but he continued to support his teammates, offering encouragement and guidance wherever he could. His perseverance during that difficult time earned him his tough colours, a recognition of his loyalty and influence, even when he couldn’t play.

This year, Kaden returned stronger than ever, guiding the Parktown Boys’ first team through a season filled with determination and pride. His leadership helped restore confidence and unity within the squad, proving that true captains inspire, not just through victories, but through the way they uplift those around them. “We showed that with hard work and belief, we can achieve great things.”

Beyond football, Kaden hopes to study media or business management in the future, combining his creativity with his drive for success. For now, though, he continues to wear the captain’s armband with pride, representing his school and teammates with the same courage and heart that defines his every game.
