Wanderers Ladies Chariots dominate UJ to seal bonus-point cricket victory

A strong bowling performance and a dominant opening partnership led the Wanderers Ladies Club to a bonus-point victory over UJ Ladies at Orban Oval.

The Wanderers Ladies Chariots cricket team recently delivered a polished all-round performance to secure a commanding win against UJ Ladies at the Orban Oval.

Winning the toss, the Chariots made the confident decision to field first and were immediately rewarded for their bold approach.

Their bowlers struck early and often, keeping UJ batters under constant pressure. Despite a spirited effort from the hosts, UJ were restricted to 125 runs and were bowled out in 29.3 overs.

Leading the charge with the ball was Olivia Marais, whose sharp spell of 3/19 in 4.3 overs set the tone for the innings. She was well supported by Traci Brest and Madison Landsman, who each claimed two wickets, ensuring the momentum remained firmly with the visitors.

The fielding effort was equally impressive, marked by energy, discipline and a collective hunger to dominate.

Chasing the modest target, the Chariots’ opening pair of Madison Landsman and Traci Brest wasted no time in stamping their authority on the match. Their fluent partnership of 105 runs effectively ended the contest long before the final ball.

Landsman was in sublime form, striking 74 from just 42 deliveries with a mix of elegant placement and powerful hitting. Brest complemented her perfectly, contributing a composed 32 from 42 balls and providing stability at the other end.

The target was comfortably reached in just 15.1 overs, earning the Chariots not only a convincing victory but also a valuable bonus point. It was a performance that highlighted the depth, balance and growing confidence within the side.

Beyond the scoreboard, the match reflected the strong team spirit and passion driving the Chariots. Their commitment on and off the field continues to build a welcoming environment for players of all levels.
