Parktown High School for Girls raises fund with golf day at Wanderers Golf Club
Funds raised at the annual golf day will go towards the upgrade of the school’s infrastructure.
Golfers gathered at The Wanderers Golf Club on August 21 to raise funds at Parktown High School for Girls’ 18th golf day.
The day featured new activations on the course, creating a fun and energetic atmosphere for both seasoned golfers and social players.

Organisers Kumarie Lachman, a member of the school’s parents’ association, and Shaun Davidson re-imagined the event with a fresh vibe to bring the community together and reach a R100 000 fundraising target.
“All the funds raised will go towards the upgrade of the school’s infrastructure,” said Lachman, “ensuring our girls continue to learn in an environment that matches their excellence.
It is this desire to provide for our girls that led to us creating the Parktown Girls Legacy Fund, which supports girls who otherwise would not have been able to access the holistic education offered by the school.”
Lachman added that the event was made possible by the support of sponsors and parents, who donated prizes including luxury nights away at five-star hotels.

Parktown High School for Girls headmistress Gail Davidson said she was pleased with the turnout. “The parents involved are new and old parents who have been with the association. It’s a festive day with old and new golfers who are passionate about contributing towards our cause.
The golf day is more fun this year in that there are also school raffles for participating golfers and prizes are up for grabs.”
The day ended with a dinner at the club to thank the sponsors and golfers involved in helping the school raise funds.
