According to tournament coordinator Gustav Aspling from the Wanderers Club, the annual competition dates back to 1976 and continues to attract a large number of participants from various districts.

“The tournament runs on a knockout basis over seven to eight weeks and draws bowlers from clubs across several regions,” he explained.

The competition follows a knockout format, where each match is decided through the best of two sets of nine ends. If the sets are tied, a three-end tiebreaker determines the winner.

With many competitors already eliminated in the early rounds, the pressure has intensified as players battle for a place in the final stages.
