Wanderers Club hockey C team defies weather to defeat Jeppe Quondam Club

Despite the weather conditions, the Wanderers Club’s hockey C team took on the Jeppe Quondam B team in a hockey match that had the crowd on their feet.

Wet Astroturf, and a few sudden showers, may have dampened the morning of March 22.

However, Wanderers Club’s hockey team did not allow the weather to deter them, winning 3–1 against Jeppe Quondam Club.

The weather also didn’t deter the fans of the Wanderers C team and the Jeppe Quondam B team, as they gathered to cheer on their respective teams.

“The game went well,” Wanderers Club hockey team captain Mubeezi Lubinga said. “It was a tough game, given the weather conditions, but I think both teams did their best. The Jeppe team is also quite good, so they put it to the test, but, luckily, we were able to get the result.”

Lubinga added that his team has so far won two out of three games of the season. Their next games will be after Easter, where he hopes the team will do better given the Easter holidays rest.

Dominic Collison, Jeppe Quondam Club’s captain, said their results didn’t go their way. “Today’s game was a bit frustrating. A lot of the players were dropping their heads and didn’t play to the whistle.”

Collison added that he hoped his team could do better in other games.
