Johannesburg Water is currently conducting a tie-in on Melrose’s water grid.

As a result, there is currently low water pressure or no water in the following suburbs:

• Melrose
• Saxonwold
• Killarney
• Dunkeld
• Parktown North
• Parkwood
• Rosebank
• Parts of Houghton Estate
• Forest Town
• Parkview
• Birdhaven
• Melrose North
• Melrose Estate

The restoration is scheduled for 21:00 on January 26. Johannesburg Water will communicate with customers if there are any changes.

The water entity said that during the current heatwave, more water is used so the system may drain quicker than usual and the taps may run dry.

Johannesburg Water would like to appeal to the community to continue using water sparingly.
