Pirates Road Running Club members shine in Comrades Marathon

Pirates Roads Running Club chair describes this year’s Comrades Marathon participants from the club as largest contingent.

Club chairman Gerry Greyling said they had 76 runners representing the club.

Helena Oberholzer is the second Pirates female home.

“This year is the largest Pirates contingent ever to run the marathon with the most number of finishers and medals,” Greyling said.

Brendon Easthorpe and Michael Davies complete their race with positive energy.

The medal standings were as follows:

  • Four silvers (under 7 hours 30 minutes)
  • 13 Bill Rowan medals (under 9 hours.
  • 22 Robert Mtshali medals (under 10 hours)
  • 2 bronze (under 11 hours)
  • 18 Vic Clapham medals (under 12 hours).
