Reach out and make a difference at RHA

Giving is not just about donating; it is about making a difference, says Judith.

As the year draws to a close, the Rosebank Homeless Association expressed its gratitude to the public for the assistance they gave them this year.

Judith Briggs, the chairperson of the association, took this opportunity to thank all those who helped the association in one way or another.

“Thank you to those who run the Immaculata Shelter who have been splendid in their selfless assistance to those who need to be housed, given sustenance, or helped with clothes and training.”

Briggs added that everyone who helped, whether by donating clothes, food, time, or money, made a difference in someone’s life, and they were grateful.

“Our biggest thank you goes to the Javett Foundation which has kept us financially afloat, and it is with great sadness that Mr Michael Javett is no longer with us.”

She said the best part of this year was that life was almost back to normal, albeit with some extra precautions, and the worst part was that finding outlets for the sewing team’s work was still difficult because there was still a reluctance to be out.

“As everyone celebrates the holiday season, please remember those less fortunate and make an effort to donate time, money, and clothes to those who are in need.”

She concluded that their wish was for more work opportunities and that people did not want handouts, they wanted work to sustain themselves and to restore their dignity.
