Rosebank Exclusive Books hosts R Book Hire book club meeting
A book initiative that accommodates readers from 5 to 14 years old held a successful book club meeting at Exclusive Books Rosebank.
A registered non-governmental organisation formed by a nine-year-old had a successful book club meeting at Rosebank Exclusive Books.
The NGO initiative named R Book Hire was founded by Reamoleboha Monethi in January this year with the main aim of encouraging children to develop a love for reading.

Reamoleboha’s mother, Ntshepang Monethi said their meeting on July 15 had 25 enthusiastic young readers in attendance. “Our book club members’ ages range from 5 to 14 years old. Our focus was on fostering meaningful discussions and engaging games centred on the collection of books they have read since our last book club meeting in March. Our main goal with the R Book Hire initiative is to instill a love for reading among kids, which is a significant challenge in our country,” said Ntshepang.

She expressed that the children’s participation and enthusiasm during the event were truly heartwarming. “Witnessing their passion for books and the knowledge they gained from their readings was an inspiring sight. As part of our commitment to nurturing young readers, we also awarded those who showed remarkable improvement in their reading abilities and engagement with the books.”

Beyond the book club members, Monethi said they were thrilled to see a surge of interest from walk-in customers at Exclusive Books. She said many parents expressed keen interest in enrolling their children in their book club, highlighting the growing need for initiatives that promoted literacy and a love for reading.

“Given the impact of this event and the positive response from the community, we believe it would make a wonderful feature for your publication. We would be honoured if you would consider writing an article about our R Book Hire kids book club, sharing the stories and experiences of the young readers who are part of this transformative journey.”
