“As we are headed towards the festive season, we felt this must be how we begin [with] our operations until next season. All motorists are warned that this year we won’t tolerate drivers who violate traffic acts and put the lives of other road users at risk. We are going to intensify our visibility throughout the remaining months,” said Masotsha.

He said on the same day, during a crime prevention and drunk-and-driving operation, 11 suspects were arrested for public drinking. He notified the public that the admission of guilt for drinking in public has gone up from R300 to a R1 000 fine.
