Tamara Barnwell: These events, in neighbourhoods, foster unity, relationships, and safety by providing spiritual support, sparking conversations, and encouraging engagement. They enhance community solidarity and align with strategies like policing and social programmes to address crime’s root causes. This particular walk inspired hope and resilience, supported by various stakeholders.
Ouma Khasu: Prayer walks positively impact communities by raising faith awareness and making victims of crimes more visible. They promote the principle of ubuntu, advocating for not suffering in silence. They offer alternative intervention for those affected by crime and provide spiritual counselling and comfort to those facing hopeless situations within the community.
Muhluri Nkuna: We believe it is essential for God to intervene in our situation because we cannot do this on our own. That is why we are inviting God’s presence and partnering with other stakeholders for this prayer walk. We encourage community members to join us, as this collaboration will greatly benefit our community.
