Dorfman Karate dominates KWF SA Junior Championship

Dorfman Karate celebrated a wave of victories at the KWF SA Junior Championships, with top honours going to two standout athletes from the club.

Dorfman Karate made a powerful impression at the Karatenomichi South Africa (KWF SA) Junior Championships held on June 7. With around 700 young karatekas taking part, the club stood out by winning 27 of the 51 sections.

The team also brought home around 20 silver and 35 bronze medals, making Dorfman the top-performing clubs at the tournament. The results reflected the consistent effort and preparation put in by the students and their coaches.

In a special highlight, both the overall top male and female champions came from the club. Nathan Gavin was named the top male karateka, while Safiya Barkelm earned the title of top female. Their achievements brought great pride to the team and showed the level of talent coming through the ranks.

Sensei Shane Dorfman praised the team’s efforts, saying: “Our team delivered an outstanding performance at the KWF SA Junior Championships across all categories, showcasing exceptional skill, dedication, and technical competence.”
